Structure, Dynamics and Function of Rhizobacterial Genomes
General Objectives
The group’s main objective is to gain basic and applied knowledge on the beneficial interactions between plants and microorganisms of interest in agriculture and forestry. To achieve this general objective, the group is focusing on the ecology of rhizosphere microorganisms and their use in the recovery of degraded soils, as well as on the genomic analysis of soil microbial communities; on the development of the functional genomics of microorganisms and plants using Group II introns as highly-efficient mutagenic tools, and finally, on the applications of genomic technology to study rhizosphere colonization and the characterization of new RNA regulators in symbiotic microorganisms.
